  While I was in Anchorage for an extended stay I was shopping for souvenirs. I went into the shop on a few different occasions. Each time I was pleasantly greeted and helped. In fact, one of the individuals educated me on a tale about one of the items in the shop. I inquired as to how she knew the tale and she told me the shop owner had educated her and was very knowledgeable. I was able to locate the tale in a book. On another visit, I was looking for an item I had seen in the shop on a previous visit. The owner had sold the item, but said he could get another. I couldn't have asked for any better service. I appreciate the Rusty Harpoon and it's owners!

  I called to find out about a pair of earrings I bought there once and see if any more were in stock. The woman who answered the phone was extremely rude told me she doesn't carry that brand anymore and hung up on me. I will not be sending any more out-of-town visitors to visit the store because I wouldn't want them to think that is what locals are like. Update* Owner found me and called my work to try to have me fired for posting a negative review. Stay classy.

  The items sold there are very cute and affordable, but the service was awful, my daghter is 2 and picked up a small toy, i told her she could have it a few ways down the isle she sw a bigger toy and went to grab it, a lady immediatly came up and yelled at my daughter saying that she was the one who had to pick up after the children and I shouldnt just let her touch everything, I was offended and left immediatly, my daughter didnt even let the first toy touch the ground and if she had i would have picked it up after her, if the service was better I would have bought alot of small toys there. Disappointed!

  I'm a guy. I can always find gifts to buy for women here. My mom, girlfriends, female friends. I go here first!
