::Happy to see Denver investing in good public transit! As transit goes in the U.S., this is one of the better cities (though admittedly that's not saying much). It's WORLDS better than DC public transit, that's for sure. The light rail system and the bus system differ slightly. The light rail is a more pleasant ride, and it's more punctual. It's very, very rare for the light rail to be even a minute late, and I've taken it nearly every weekday for three years now. The buses are not always as punctual, though now with the RTD Next Ride app, you can get a much better idea of when your bus will actually arrive so that you aren't left standing outside for 30 minutes wondering where your bus is. This app is quite accurate. On top of that, Google Maps also pulls in up-to-the-minute information with surprising accuracy. Also, the buses serve a more comprehensive area than the light rail system does. Is the system perfect? No. I would like for both buses & trains to be more frequent (some routes stop pretty early, or only run once an hour on the weekends). But in terms of timeliness, it's as good or better than all major transit systems I've been on (which include DC, Chicago, Boston, and Seattle). And compared to all the major U.S. cities without any reliable transit systems at all, Denverites have a lot to be grateful for. The RTD system makes it possible to live without a car in Denver, which is not true of many cities of Denver's size.

::RTD is a poorly run transit agency for a large American city. The buses and trains never run on time, the fare technology is slow and outdated, and the staff are quite rude. Furthermore, the new "MyRide" card is already antiquated and has a terrible name. It is as though RTD just gave up on finding something original like other, better transit agencies. I fully support public transit but RTD is not up to the task.

::Some months their online store is reliable sometimes it's not. This month the local pass I ordered last month never arrived and the replacement probably won't arrive until almost a fourth of the month is through.
