  there is no lack of East Village deli's aka bodegas. but find one that is 24 hours, has great grill-sandwich maestros, items for late night apt emergencies like a clogged sink, a fantasy island of guilty pleasures junkfood, AND cheap (non-gentrified) prices then you'll find yourself on the corner of 6th and D! this bodega is tightly packed. narrow. well-lit. gets crowded at the oddest times. there's always crazy loud conversations going on. it's a neighborhood joint. whether you're looking for a bacon egg n cheese before work, an overstuffed hero of fine meats and cheese, a greasy cheeseburger and fries, or an ever-changing selection of eats like tostones, papas rellenas, etc. though this ain't a rice n beans joint...though occasionally they sling the starch n legumes. again ever changing on foods like that. basically the go-tos in terms of good food/great value are deli sandwiches, grilled foods (burgers, philly cheesesteaks, etc.), fryer eats (fries, onion rings, wings, etc.). pretty much if they have the ingredients...they will make the sandwich for you even if you ask for insane combinations. they rock the Cafe Bustelo, (last i remember) so you'll always have a great (non-elitist) cup of coffee here for less than 2 bucks (suck it Starbucks and hipster coffee). in terms of a grocery and house goods, they have limited selection of canned foods (chef boyardee and the like), other packaged eats (campbells), lightbulbs, cleaning supplies, DranO, pest sprays, etc. anything for last minute shopping in a pinch or late night calamities that oft strike us pre-war building dwellers. a fantasy island of Cheetos, Doritos, all the other _____tos, other chips n dip, candy, hostess sugar death eats, and the knockoffs of the aforementioned. has an atm that spits out 10s and 20s. the guys who own and run the place are friendly, full of personality, humorous, and chill cats. act rude, entitled, disrespectful, or idiotic--you will get dragged and kicked bc you're in the hood and folks in the area (public housing abound) don't play that. this is a great mom n pop business on the D block that represents, so make the walk over from A, B, and C when you googling or yelping for food at those unsavory late hours. if you run on the east side path or play tennis at the parks, this is a perfect place to pick up a cheap morning reward (FOOD!) after a long calorie burn. believe.

  Day and age of the well off returning, even they have too partner off for the rent, the prices and the quality of meat.... never mind.... y'all stay with Keyfood.
