::Unique bbq joint on the outskirts of Arlington. The food here isn’t bad, but it’s not the great bbq either. For the area, it’s one of the better ones. The bbq was on the dry side and the sauce was kind of acidic. The coleslaw wasn’t as creamy and was basically course chopped cabbage. The pulled pork egg rolls are pretty good though.

::Rockland's lives up to the BBQ legend. The facility is great and has plenty of eye candy besides the amazing food. There are about 25 parking spaces and street parking, tons of seating inside and outside.

::Decided to stop by since I was in town in Arlington for work. One of my colleagues had recommended it highly, and I really wanted to check it out. I was not disappointed. Since I was in a hurry, I ordered half a rack (two beef ribs) and their "spicy" fries along with some sweet tea. A very polite salesperson took the order and a pleasant server brought it out in five minutes. The beef ribs were thick tender and juicy and required just a littlebit of their ature sweet BBQ sauce to take it over the top. The fries were anything but spicy, but were hot and fresh with definitely some kind of seasoning on them. The sweet tea was fabulous. Although at $33 (with base tip, military discount and tax) the food was pricey, I will definitely come back for more ribs!

::Great BBQ, good prices, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. I had the tree meat platter and chose the brisket, pulled pork and smoked sausage. For the sides I had the mint cucumber salad and the Mexican corn salad. Flavor was incredible!! Brisket was smoky and delicious, tender and juicy. The pulled pork was not as wet but not dry either. Full of fla or but I did chose to try out the house BBQ sauce just to try it out. The sausage was grilled to perfection. It was drizzled with onions and peppers and full of amazing flavor. My sides were a perfect complement to all the meat. Fresh cucumber with a hint of mint and seasoning. The corn dish was extremely tasty and fresh. I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this place to anyone that enjoys great BBQ.

::Update: I decided to give it another try. The beef ribs were really flavorful and tender. My sides were delicious as well (onion rings and salad). It was a bit expensive, but the meal was definitely enjoyable. The service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a better experience. _______________________________________________ Original review: After hearing positive reviews about Rocklands, I purposed to check them out. I have to give them another chance because I am a little disappointed. I opted to dine in but needed my meal in a to-go setup. I was obliged but did not receive my order until I walked to the counter. The staff were apologetic but did not offer to replace the meal (they were supposed to bring it where I was seated). The place is clean, with steady customer traffic. The aroma fills the air before even getting close to the parking lot. My food was cold and I felt a bit underwhelmed by the portions. The brisket had a nice bite and flavor but was teetering on the dry side. I found myself needing to use sauce to eat. And the sauce was pretty tasty. My sides were cold so I really could not enjoy. In all, I will try again at a later date and update. I cannot really say for now. They were very apologetic upon my exiting, but my view remains unchanged.
