::I came to Mr. Isley to look at my first violin that I ordered online. UPS sent me the violin in a box that had a fragile label, but arrived dented. Mr. Isley inspected the violin and made some adjustments. I am very grateful to him for his kindness in doing this for me the day right before Christmas being that it's a gift for my husband. His knowledge and expertise assured me that my violin was in the very best of hands.

::I would trust Mr. Isley with any repair and would highly recommend his expertise. Bob takes the extra time and care when listening to and examining an instrument. This is something that you won't get when you take your instrument into a shop in Manhattan.

::I have never had a bad experience with Mr. Isley. His work is always top notch. He is timely, honest and always willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. If you ever have any problems with his work (I haven't had any in 3 years) he will want to meet with you again to address the issue. When you meet Mr. Isley in his shop, you can sense the intense pride he takes in both his business and his craft. Mr. Isley's shop is located in the heart of Rye, so if you're having any work done you can grab lunch or a cup of coffee....or better yet! Stay and talk with Mr. Isley. He is an incredibly knowledgable man and a wonderful conversationalist. LOCATION: His shop can be a little hard to find. It is located above the Cosi restaurant in Rye. The left door takes you into Cosi's, and the right door will lead you up the stairs to his shop. PARKING: Street parking is free if you can find it. If not, turn off Purchase Street (turn at the TD bank) and go down Smith Street. There will be a metered lot on your right about 100 feet down the road. $1 an hour.
