::Having done some volunteer work here, this place is AMAZING! They give away soooooo much good food from fresh produce, to baked goods, to Starbucks sandwiches as well as an assortment of pre-packaged salads, soups/sandwiches from an assortment of local food stores (Trader Joe's, Safeway, Whole Foods, Raley's... You name it!) The employees as well as the volunteers there really bust their butts to provide the best items and service they can. It has been a truly awesome and inspiring time volunteering at River City Food Bank and it really makes me proud to live in such an amazing country with such a wealth of kind, giving and helpful people and companies that provide the best they can for all the right reasons. I highly recommend checking this place out as I enjoy volunteering here as well as grabbing food items for my household.

River City Food Bank these are huge words in this country, for such a small group they give kindness and fill the void of hunger in all who attend. On time that is between 11am 2:30pm.

::BEST food bank in town. The volunteers are well trained (for the most part) and the food is largely organic produce and, if you're early, meat. A word of warning, people standing in line can be unruly, so bring your earbuds, music and ignore them; otherwise they'll mess with your aura. The motto at River City is "we just want to feed people." They've cut back on paperwork so the line moves faster. We owe this all to the new head of the Food Bank and Family Services CEO, Blake Young, who streamlined services to include direct and indirect distribution. Smart guy. We're lucky to have him.
