::My car got towed from the Honolulu Zoo parking lot and I was told the reason was because of outstanding parking citations. I was told in order to get my car back I would have to pay over $1000.00 dollars. I informed the parking manager of problems I had with the pay boxes in the past and even provided a list of which boxes gave me which problems 1. Parking citations issued by Republican Parking or any other Parking company is considerd to be invoices and the worst thing that can happen is it get sent to a collection agency. It doesn't get sent to Traffic Court nor will it show up on the traffic abstract. Besides most parking companies don't have the manpower or resource to go after every citation issued. 2. Towing companies are not allowed to collect any money from you beyond the towing and storage fees associated with the tow which shouldnt be more then $120.00.
