  Extremely unprofessional. I booked a 6am appointment through Style seat. I booked crochet braids with hair included for $140. The salon texted me at 10:30 at night the day before the appointment asking me what kind of hair i need. She informed me that she didn’t have the hair and she would need to go out and purchase some but, i can’t come until after 10am. I have a job, i cannot rebook on such a short notice and my flight leaves on Wednesday. It is very unprofessional to cancel appointments at the last minute because you failed to prepare for a service that you offered. I will not book this salon again.

  This salon doesn’t know how to care for curly or Afro hair. I visited this salon for the last time a year ago and left with most of my hair torn out. My sew in was taken out carelessly. The stylist who took it down was barely paying attention while she did it. The next stylist tried to use a small-tooth rat tailed comb to detangle my hair and not the tail, the actual teeth. I literally cringed. Obviously using this type of comb doesn’t work when you have an Afro and you haven’t used a larger tooth comb first. I just expected a professional to know that. She finally stopped and said she couldn’t detangle it. I proceeded to completely detangle the section she was working with, within seconds, with just my fingers. She seemed so surprised that it worked. 🙄 Then she proceeded to straighten my hair and not even well. It was still really frizzy. Worst experience at a salon ever. Since then most of my hair has grown back and I still get upset just thinking about it. I will never visit this place again. If you have straight or relaxed hair you will probably have a better experience. If you have a fro and you’re thinking about getting a sew in, visit this place at your own risk.

  I was there for 7 hours. I had a frontal installed; before it was measured on my head the lace was pre-cut. I was not able to pull the front of my hair back, due to it looking too much like a wig! The frontal was coming up the very next morning and now after a week the $190 sew-in is taken completely out of my head. I actually drove 2 1/2 hours to get it done. I called her the very next day (less than 24 hours) and she told me to come back so she can fix it and in the meantime put the spray glue on it until I was able to come back up to Chicago. After a few days, when I realized I just needed to take it all the way out, I requested my money back and she refuse to and said the only thing I can do was come get it fix. But why would I go through all that stress again. She also had someone else working on my head as she directed her on how to sew it. If I paid for her service, I think she should have done my hair completely. I understand someone else braiding it, but she actually had someone else installing my frontal and bundles, as she jumped in a few times. Her assistant even ironed my hair out, which is so wrong on so many levels. I usually don't rate, but I don't want anyone to lose out like I did, if you are getting a frontal installed do not go to her. If you are getting a closure or leave out sew-in, she most def can take care of you. "

  Unprofessional and unorganized salon. Erica and Kay both do a great job with sew-ins, but booking an appointment here at this salon is a hassle. I've been charged double for an appointment cancellation in which I rescheduled, came back, and arrived the next day waiting outside in the cold. Which, no one ever came and I had to find another stylist to do my hair. This place could definitely be something if the management/owner stepped up the customer service and repertoire. It really feels like the stylists here do hair when they 'want' to and 'when' they want to. There have been several other incidents where I've arrived to the salon an hour faster than the stylist. I understand that things happen, but the stylists could definitely do better.

  I had a really good experience at Remy Hair Salon. Ericka did my box braids. She was nice, professional, fast, neat, and honest. The other staff members were very nice as well. The shop is also very clean and organized. I only experienced some difficulty when trying to booking my appointment. However, I would definitely go back again.
