I went here with a group of friends. One of them was very pregnant but was just trying to spend time with us. The bouncer in the photo I posted pushed her on the stairwell in order to make room for someone else to pass, a model of some kind, even though they could have just been patient and let her finish walking. There was no call for such physical abuse against a pregnant woman. My friend and I talked to the head of security and they scoffed at us. Never again will I go here and I hope no one else ever will either after this experience. Also, their music selection sucks, FYI.

It was fun to dance there. The drinks were reasonably priced and the gogo dancers were fun. The music was too mainstream for my tastes though.

I came from Utah to visit my sister in the Seattle area and we wanted to try a new club. Someone she knew recommended R place so we thought we would give it a try. I LOVE dancing and have been to many different clubs. This was by far my all time favorite dance club! It started with the most entertaining drag show on Saturday night for about an hour and then they moved the tables and chairs and we danced the night away. The music was amazing and so much fun! Seriously best DJ ever playing popular music that we know and love. The people there were awesome and the bouncers were friendly. Will definitely be going back to R place next time I visit😀

One of the best dancing experiences I’ve ever had! Everybody was friendly and having a good time. The drag show started us off right. The DJ played amazing hits everyone could dance to and even sing along with! The security was friendly even though they had to get loud to get us out at closing time. We couldn’t help it, nobody wanted to leave. I will most definitely be back again and again!

Let's tell a story about R Place shall we? I agree that knives and things shouldn't probably be allowed in clubs. It's pretty common sense. However, after forfeiting your knife at the door, you should be expected to get it back in a decent amount of time. Bars get busy. Totally understand that too. But after waiting 15 minutes with a minimal line for the security guard (who took my knife to begin with) to have already asked for it is a bit absurd. And when asking how much longer it may be, to have a guard accuse you of having an illegal spring loaded knife (though it wasn't mind you) the story gets more fun. The security guard gets back on his walkie and tells the upstairs to "hold on that knife, I have a point to prove". But wait, there's more! They finally come out and tell you they "just didn't know if you were going to stab someone or not, because you have a point to prove" after asking them to show you how it was an "illegal knife in the state of WA" (pro tip: it isn't). As a gay man, I carry a (legal) pocket knife on me for general protection. I totally understand a bar not wanting knives allowed inside and will happily turn it over, with the expectation I'll be allowed my property back without question. The power trip of the security guard to accuse me of having a "point to prove" when he was just being a generally ridiculous human shows me exactly what kind of place R Place wants to be. I don't normally write these kind of things because I think they're wasted breath, but wow. Also, things R Place does now: takes your picture as you enter and scans your ID. You wanna know an easy way for someone to target a group of (potentially) LGBT people? Target that database. It's insane to me that a place that claims to be a haven for LGBT folk would behave like this. Literally never again.
