  Initially I was very uncomfortable with the atmosphere and afraid of social interactions I would have to face in the coming 36 months of my life. It took a few weeks to really get settled in but once I made a few friends on the inside I realized prison life isn't all that bad. I imagined rape to be more of a problem than I thought it would be. The one close call I had resulted in one month of solitary confinement for both of us. The hole didn't treat me well, and resulted in Ganser Syndrome for the remainder of my stay. The dissociative effects were extremely detrimental to my mental health and I've been told I'm a little "off" now. The food was not great.
