::It's odd how luxurious they make car maintenance feel.

::I bought my truck at Prestige in September. In January, I noticed a ringing, howling kind of noise at highway speeds, so I called and made an appointment to have it looked at. Prestige service is about 25 minutes away from where I live, but I decided to go there because I bought the vehicle from them. I arrived on Saturday, and I was impressed by the facility. There's an automatic garage door which opens when you pull up to it, leading to a large reception area. The staff made short work of checking my vehicle in, they were efficient and courteous. I walked up to the receptionist who was behind a large desk inside, and she directed me towards a service adviser. This gentleman asked me about the issue, had me sign some paperwork and told me I could avail myself of the complementary coffee and bagels in the well appointed waiting room. So far, I was very pleased with my experience, the establishment is clean, well lit and it seems well staffed. About 1/2 an hour later, the service adviser asks me to go for a ride with the mechanic to point out the noise, he said he didn't hear it. No problem, we go for a 10 minute ride, and he told me that he heard the noise, but didn't know what it was. We go back to the shop, and the service advisor tells me that while they acknowledge that there's a noise, someone who isn't there that day, needs to take the car for a ride and hear it himself. Fine. I make another appointment, for the next week, when this individual will be working, and use up another Saturday. It's okay though, cars nowadays are complicated things, and can take some diagnosis. After another test ride (this time without me) the service adviser explains that there is a new TSB (Technical Service Bullitin) that applies to my situation, and they'll have to order parts. This next appointment, I don't wait. I get a loaner. This was much better than waiting around, they supplied me at no cost (other than the fuel I used) a comparable vehicle which was less than a year old. The work was completed by the afternoon, and I went to pick up my truck. When i got my truck back, I noticed that the dash cam had been unplugged. I guess they did that when they went to Dunkin Donuts to pick up coffee (I know they did this because they didn't unplug my GPS!) Whatever, but the truck still made the noise. The service adviser told me that yet another TSB had been published, and they would have to again, order parts. This was a bigger job, and instead of leaving it on a Saturday, they wanted the truck on a weekday, So I dropped it off at night, and got another loaner. The next day, I went to pick up my truck, dash cam unplugged again, but at least the noise was much less. Not gone, but it was better. However, and this is the part that really upset me, when I got home, I noticed that there was damage to the interior of the truck. Part of the TSB required installing new cab mounts. This meant that the technician had to remove some interior panels to gain access to the mounting bolts. One of the panels had a 2" crack in it, and there are plastic access plugs used to cover bolts, that were mangled from using the wrong tool to pry them off. I immediately texted the service adviser, with pictures, and he told me to bring the truck in again and maybe he could "replace under warranty". This is shoddy, work. It makes me wonder if the rest of the job was performed with the same carelessness. By using the wrong tools, the access plugs were damaged, and putting a broken panel back, not saying anything about it... Were they hoping I wouldn't notice? So, yet again, I took my truck back. They replaced the cracked panel, presumably under warranty, but the access plugs are still mangled. Oh, and the dash cam was unplugged again. My Toyota came with 2 years of free maintenance - this amounts to a couple of oil changes and 4 tire rotations. I'll do the work myself, before I bring it back to this place. It's very hard to find a service department you can trust.
