  People come to sit on the grass, maybe do a little exercise. The breezes off the water and the relative quietness being out in the river make this a great place to get away from it all for awhile and relax. Only a few minutes walk from mass transit stations on or near Christopher St.

  People mind their business here but are still friendly. Great atmosphere especially on cool summer nights when all the Queens are in the courtyard voguing and having a good time. I visit every weekend

  It is lovely place to have a seat after a nice walk along the water. Have a drink and even get something to eat.

  concerts on the Hudson! Most of the events are free. There is a cafe-restaurant-bar near the entrance to the park. You cannot bring dogs (on the grass) or alcohol into the park. It is a great place to picnic with friends and watch the sunset. You can organize your own event. There are free sunset concerts on Friday evenings.
