  My son and daughter have been taking lessons with both Abby and Les for several years. Abby and Les are accomplished musicians who give lessons out of their warm and welcoming Upper West Side home. They have a kind and casual approach to their teaching (Abby also teaches voice and violin). Abby is patient and enthusiastic and has allowed my son to develop a beautiful talent on the piano that he may not have done in a more traditional, strict setting. It has really worked for him. They present a lovely recital for their students twice a year and the range of ages and talent is beautiful to see. They have a special talent of meeting each student where they are and lovingly encouraging them to embrace whatever music inspires them. It is awesome.

  My son at aged 10 begged for piano lessons. I looked online and somehow I had enough good karma to find Les and Abigail. I was tempted to go to like a “kids club” type of class because I thought he could do a trial first and then I could judge his commitment. But once he met them, he was all in. I am sure people who know more about music than I would agree that he has technically progressed over the past several months. I mean he started from nothing and is playing and learning from them and eager to pick things up on his own. But, I find you can get technical anywhere. What you can’t get anywhere is Les and Abigail. (My son actually gets mad when I refer to Abby as “Abigail” because he says she is so cool so I should call her Abby! :) ) If I were to give an official review I would say my son has played this and that, memorizing music, advanced considerably in a short amount of time, etc. Abigail is a classically trained prodigy and Les is “self taught” but what I find really cool about them is Abby tends to be more loose around my son and Les is tougher about the rules. They approach every lesson from the perspective of the student. My son always reminds me to write from the heart like I make him do. So I asked him, when I wanted to write a review, what should I say? He said, “Say they love music and they love me.” So, long story long, very highly recommend.

  I have been taking piano lessons from Abby and Les for 10 months now. They are truly one of a kind. I actually had the chance to see them perform live. Abby's voice is pristine like water. I was blown away. Les' solo perfomance sounded like a recording. They didn't even look nervous. They're very patient when teaching the piano. I would recommend anyone to take piano lessons from them. I am truly lucky. Thank you Abby and Les.

  Abby and Les live and breathe music. If you want to learn to play piano, violin or sing - they are wonderful, supportive teachers and are really great at giving technical training to make you better every time. My voice lessons with Abby are always the highlight of my week. Highly recommended!

  Abby and Les are amazing! I live out of town, I follow my grandchildren to their afterschool activities when I visit. They are always excited to go for their piano lessons and have fun while they are learning. In fact I was so impressed with the magic of it all that I now take voice lessons when I am in town. They are extremely skilled with students of any age and truly happy when they help those students reach their personal goals.
