A shame cause their service department is great. Otherwise they hit the #1 on my most hated company board. I rather pay .60 cents more then to deal with them, (wait I did when they over charged me!) I called to cancel a contract that doesn't start for 20 days and they threaten me with lawsuit??? What the hell is that? Either way do your homework read the reviews ask around before going to Petro.

Have been a loyal customer for over 15 years and referred others as well unfortunately. It was nice while it lasted. Petro is clearly understaffed since waiting for a service call could be many hours and this has gotten worse over the last few years. Customer service is poor WHEN they actually answer the phone, truth, you can get no answer during cold weather. NO ANSWER! The service techs have been competent and pleasant. Petro should stop putting their $$$ into advertising and invest in 1) their customer service training 2) more system service technicians We'll go back to our previous company when the contract is up. Go elsewhere.

I have been on automatic delivery with Engelman/Manor Fuel for 16 years - never had a problem. Recently, Petro took over ownership and, for the first time ever, we ran out of oil. It took several phone calls - at times with incompetent and even rude representatives and misinformation; upwards of 10 - 15 minutes on hold - and 12 hours - for a technician to arrive and get my heating system bled of air and re-started. (Oil was delivered within 8.5 hours but didn't help as system required re-start). Never once did the telephone representatives express concern or care - they only offered the excuse of the weather/snow storm. They never apologized either for allowing us to run out of oil (this could have damaged our heating system if the temps were cold enough). This is wholly unacceptable - especially for a company that advertises on its web site that they provide service despite the weather. What is the point of contracting with a heating company if they are not there when you need them. Insult to injury I discovered their prices of $4.69 was almost double the published rates of 3 other companies ($2.62, $2.64, and $2.64)! The only bright spot was the technician, Mike, who seemed very capable and provided good, thorough service. Unfortunately, he doesn't run the company, nor can he influence the reliability and speed of the service his company provides generally. Clearly the ownership and management of Petro have no clue what customer service is and it appears they practice price gouging. In summary, Petro - no stars; Mike the technician 4 stars.

LOL this is a real company? It's a wonder they've stayed in business with the way they handle their company. We had an appointment scheduled for a tune-up, made 6 months in advance. I received multiple phone calls and emails confirming my appointment window. The time came and went, so I called customer service to find out when I should expect someone. Turns out they cancelled the appointment that day, but failed to notify me. To reschedule it, I'm looking at another 4 months from now and it's the best they can do. Not an even an apology over the huge inconvenience. I'd love to know how others get the sense that "customers come first" because their service is clearly a joke. I will be looking for a new oil company ASAP.

Just make sure you read your contacts. I found another company that was less expensive & when I informed Petro that I'd know longer require there services. They told me that it would cost me $200.- for them to p/u the equipment from my house. I was shocked, & they said I should've read the contract.. PS don't bother asking them to waive the fee's b/c they won't. God Bless
