::Petland is good for most of your needs when it come to most house pets/just like family members are our pets. It's good for a quick stop but I prefer to shop at the bigger retailers due to prices. Smart shoppers know you will get more bang for your buck at places like Petco, Pet Smart and ect... I recommend those places over this one.

::This was absolutely ridiculous. I was looking for a fish tank with my cousin for my nephew and niece. The service was horrendous. I bought the kit, asked for directions about what to do(since the directions in the box were not informative) and she just said to put tap water in, to leave the heater in for 1 hr, and to assemble the filter. And supposedly the fish only had 1 hr to live. Umm... How could we heat the water before the fish would die?! We were told that the starter's kit came with everything! But the light bulbs weren't there!!! I called them and they said that they forgot. And that after feeding the fish, we have to remove the uneaten food immediately. How could we do this without a net? Of course, a net was not provided because...oh yeah, she forgot. We went there, asked for a discount and she apologized and told us that she couldn't give us one. When I told her how ridiculous this was she offered a TEN % discount the NEXT DAY! Ten percent?! That would amount to less than ONE dollar which is less than the gas we spent getting there. Eventually she gave us one light bulb for free when she should have given us all of it for free. So we got home and IT DID NOT WORK!!! She apologized again. And said that we could get a new one the NEXT day. Since the water wasn't getting any warmer, she said that we should have put in warm water--she only said tap water when we asked the first time we were there. As you can see, this service was disgusting. I was utterly appalled. As for the rest of the store, there is a really small selection of fish. The fish are either really ugly, or a couple of overpriced $50 fish. Go to the Greenpoint Branch if you want knowledgeable staff that will keep you from wasting time and money. One last thing, the girl forgot to give us a thermometer and the guy said that we could look at the labels for fish prices, but how could we if there were no pictures or color descriptions? I am out of words. Don't waste your time here.
