  I bought I fine violin from, and made by, Peter Lam several years ago. Because I came to have so many violins, I decided to sell this and a few others by other makers - even though they are all fine instruments. I asked Peter if he would take it back on consignment - meaning he pays nothing, sells it again and keeps a little of what he sells it for and I get the rest. He absolutely refused, wanting to have nothing further to do with his violin. So if you buy one from Peter, keep this in mind.
