  Starters, pro shop, bartender and every staff member we had contact with were all pleasant and friendly to talk with and very professional. On to the golf course... since it was our first time playing it and it was Memorial day we figured we were in for a slow round. We were really surprised when when the 2 of is were put behind one foursome and in front of another foursome. That can make for a very slow day. But we finished in 4 hours to our surprise and had a great time. The conditions of the course tee to green were fantastic. The best greens we've played all year (and we play a lot all over the tri state area). Many fairways slope one way or the other and require precision tee shots and approaches (read the hole descriptions on the signs at each tee box for a little advice how to play each hole). I would have liked to have given 5 stars but the course layout itself hurts it a little. Most holes run parallel to each other separated only by a few yards and some trees making it a little dangerous to say the least. We heard a lot of "fore" and players hitting from the wrong fairways. The tee boxes also are in the line of sight into some greens. I hit the roof of the cart in from of us (I yelled fore and was apologetic when we saw them) but in reality, when I got to my ball it really wasn't a terrible shot. I was pin high about 15 yards right of the green. Just so happened that was where the next tee box was. I still recommend playing here and we'll play it again!

  Hidden gem in Putnam county! My family and I spent Easter brunch at Putnam and really enjoyed it! For the unbelievable price the food and service was amazing! We had a great time and most of us went up for 3 plates! I have also been to the bar a few times downstairs and had a great time! The bartenders Terri and Colleen are a blast and make a mean cocktail! Looking forward to Friday night bbq’s and looking into hosting my next family event at Putnam!

  Brunch was awful. After paying a high price for Easter 2018 brunch including a 20% tip (mandatory, paid up-front) the food was lousy and the wait service just awful. Beef and turkey were carved but not a single piece of fish - not even lox for the bagels. The guys doing the omelets and pasta station were clearly untrained. They allowed guests into the dining room before the tables had been cleared and set from the previous sitting. Forget about asking for water, soda or coffee - it's not coming. And for some reason everyone in our 8-person party left there feeling a bit unwell, in weird ways. Overpriced, understaffed and terrible quality food. Go elsewhere for your brunch.
