I think going at this time makes it perfect. Not too warm, not too crowded. We almost had the place to ourselves! It's like a private little dog beach. We're slowly getting our dogs to like the water, but all they did was dip their paws in. Other dogs were romping in the water, which was a beautiful thing to see. I did not notice a lot of glass as others complained about. It was a nice day trip for us from Brooklyn.

Best OFF LEASH dog beach on Long island. There's some glass and garbage and such but overall it's a wonderful place to let your dog run and play. Lots of space and places for pups to swim. There's no fence tho so make sure your dog has decent recall. The people and dogs who come year round are very chill and fun. We take our dog here regularly and love it! So thankful that this place exists. ***My only issue is when people bring leashed dogs and expect those of us with off leash dogs to somehow tell our dogs to avoid that one leashed dog. Please respect that this is an off leash dog park and there are plenty of parks on Long Island where you can bring a leashed dog- should you want to go for a walk with your leashed dog.***

This is one of the worst places I have bought my dog!! The amount of broken glass is just ridiculous, and the number of lazy pet owners who simply can’t pick up after their animals is disgusting!! They have ruined what could be a great spot to bring your dogs. Granted the view is good but what is that when the safety of you and your dog is in question!!

Excellent for dogs with good dispositions and who respond to their owners commands. If not, don't come. People will have something to say. Also, with out exception, owners have been responsible and still carry a leash in case of an emergency. I've never seen one, however.

Great dog park. Two issues though. No fenced in area, your dog must be trained to run free or you'll have to keep it on a leash. Some broken glass, so be aware. It looks like kids party here at night. Cherry Ave. dog park in Sayville has large fenced areas.
