Great place for sushi on campus. Cheaper without losing quality.

There are certain things that are simply impossible to screw up, but this place manages to do it. The first time here, I had overpriced dry teriyaki chicken, served by probably the most grumpy woman who perpetually looks like somebody just beat her dog. Her English is terrible and always acts like I'm putting her out by actually coming in and ordering. I thought I'd try it again, hoping it was just an anomaly. Nope. Shrimp tempura wasn't bad, but served by the same gem of a woman. There is no traditional tempura sauce, so dip the tempura in some sort of sweet and sour or a side of overprocessed teriyaki sauce that could probably be used to hold a bumper on a car. Not much flavor either. These people make Panda Express look like Benihana. At least the woman is friendly. Not.

Customer service is okay, not great but the food is pretty good. They give large portions for an affordable price. They usually have fast service as well.

I came here the other day, been here a few times and usually have the same experience. The employees are very rude, they act like you're bothering them by giving them your money. On this last particular occasion I had ordered some sushi. When I opened it I noticed it was not cold, and was room temp. The whole thing felt like it had been sitting out for hours. I didn't want to risk eating it so I took it back and tried to show them how warm it was. I told them I wanted my money back because I was not going to eat it. The lady just shouted at me that it was suppost to be warm. I again asked for my money back since I hadn't had eaten any of the product. She still refused and told me thats how was it comes. Funny considering I had gotten the same thing numerous times and it was never room temp. Needless to say, it was a waste of money and I'll take my business elsewhere.

The food isn't bad. The sushi rolls are pretty tasty most of the time and the bowls are decent too. The customer service is garbage. If you're looking to get teated like a subhuman piece of trash and eat good food, you're at the right place. Here's the deal: One evening I asked for a salmon roll and the mean asian lady (who you can read about in the other reviews) swept the entire restaurant before making my roll. Another time, I waited 20 damn minutes for a green tea boba while customers walked in and out with their orders. Another time, I ordered in with my friend, and we waited 25 minutes to get our food. After we sat down, the mean lady started pulling chairs across the floor, which created a screeching noise that kept interrupting us in the middle of our conversation. For 20 minutes, she kept sweeping the floor and dragging chairs for no reason. One evening, I walked in and ordered my usual, a salmon roll (a Cali roll with salmon and avocado on top) and green tea boba. The cashier goes "and you want it to go right?". I mean she was right - I did want my order to go b/c their atmosphere is toxic, but I didn't like that she implied I should leave. So I just said, "yeah" and sat down. 5 minutes later a girl comes in, orders a Cali roll, and walks out 5 minutes before me with her roll. I mean why not just put salmon and avocado on top of the Cali roll and give it to me? So I asked the cashier about it and she snaps at me like "IT'S DIFFERENT! THAT'S WHY IT TAKE LONGER!" So I told her it's pretty much the same thing but with salmon and avocado on top. She kept on yelling "IT'S DIFFERENT!" at me, so I left. Also, this isn't a fact, but I get the notion that they're ethnically preferential. Right now, I'm seriously considering conducting a survey and independent samples Z test to see if their staff does show preference to Chinese customers or to customers with lighter complexions. If I can reject the null hypothesis with a 5% margin of Type I error, then I'm creating a Facebook event titled "Let's get a bunch of black people to eat at Osaka Grill" to teach those ladies a lesson.
