::Don't be deceived. You are not lost. In to the dead end. The Stainless Steel gates on the right. Real nice handicap ramp. Over a little bridge and keep going. When you see the first plaza you will be smiling. Nice layout. Probably real sunny. Real great photo opportunity location. Scrapyards, bridge, skyline, pathways....kayak launch. No swimming.

::Definitely off the beaten path, but it's well designed and brings together the area's industrial past, the current cleanup/wastewater treatment plant, and the possible future of a healthy, thriving creek. It's an interesting stop for fans of NYC history, but don't expect a lot of greenery - it's not that kind of place. Read the signs and you'll definitely learn something new about the neighborhood.

::Thoughtfully designed micro-park with gritty industrial views of Newtown Creek. Grab some Peter Pan donuts and take a mystery walk down this hidden gem.

::"Nature" walk might be a bit of a misnomer. But perhaps it's used more like the word "democracy" or "freedom." Something to strive for... Anyway, it's certainly an interesting place with a very cool conceptual stairway that tapers down into the creek's water. But be careful. Newtown Creek is an environmental disaster and is a designated superfund site. In the mid 1800s, the creek was "one of the busiest hubs of industrial activity in New York City. More than 50 refineries were located along its banks, including oil refineries, petrochemical plants, fertilizer and glue factories, sawmills, and lumber and coal yards." Yikes. But I'd say this place is still worth a visit if only for the historic curiosity factor and to show support for what a greener, cleaner and "natural" creek could someday be like.

::Not really a good date walk. The views of Manhattan would be beautiful if the view was more developed in presentation. Also you must walk through some sketchy area to get to the walk so be careful at night. Also its not that long of a "nature" walk.
