::Between the staff talking and laughing loudly the entire time I have been here (an hour) and their failure to quiet anyone else down this is a terrible place to get anything done. It is a non-stop party of crying babies and noisey patrons and staff.

::This is one of my favorite NYPL in the city. Even though it doesn’t carry the biggest selection of books and materials, it possesses a quiet study room one floor below, where there no activity whatsoever. Most libraries I’ve visited are quite silent, but there is always some kind of activity going on- people are walking by, picking up/returning books at the front desk, etc. This room is distant from all the activities mentioned above. I am glad I live close by and can visit often. *During the warmer months there is an outside garden area which is quiet and you can enjoy some fresh air. !!!The only thing to note is that the Study room is not open at all times. There needs to be a registered volunteer present, and sometimes there is none, but most of the times I’ve been there, it’s been all good.

::Bring your headphones if you plan to study, very noisy! This is my local library and they have a good variety of books, DVD’s, also lectures and other services.. but I do think they need to put some serious emphasis and cultivate the habit of silence and respect for people that actually come here to have some quite place to study !! I understand the second floor is for kids but their caretakers should understand that this is not a playground, maybe staff should promote some quietness..

::My former local library when I was living in that neighborhood. I still go there now even though I live in Queens. Great study area downstairs, clean bathrooms, and a friendly staff.

::Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. Melissa works with class groups there, and does a great job presenting library info to the students. There selection is decent for a small library, and the facilities are great. It's also bustling with community activity and families!
