::Your standard NYPL branch with a great team of librarians! They are quick to help and greet you with a smile. Selection is good and includes Russian and Spanish foreign language sections, as well as a very sizable kidsβ collection. Events are varied and have included cultural programming and classes. Tip: visit early in the day before school lets out. It can get a bit noisy in the late afternoon, but the staff does a good job of reminding folks to use their indoor voices. Still, it is a popular hangout spot for students..

::Rowdy and often not quiet This library has a chronic noise issue, and is a place frequented by noise-making local students who make it more difficult for patrons and their hardworking peers to study and concentrate. The security guard is often lopsided in her enforcement and has often given patrons an attitude when they've raised reasonable concerns. During my summer visits, she opened all the windows and the main door while the library had a functioning HVAC system, making the library stuffy and unbearable and for some, unbreathable. The restrooms are almost OK, with a consistently lingering odor that stays put even if you power washed it top down. Nearby Transit: The Bx23 Loop, Bx26, Bx28 and Bx30 are across the street at Alcott Place. As you exit turn left then left again. The BxM7 to East Midtown is at a separate but adjacent stop.

::This library has a worker with a TERRIBLE attitude. My little sister went there today trying to print out one paper and accidentally printed out 45. Then a librarian with some nerve starts yelling at her and forced her to pay $10.00 for the papers.

::I liked learning and STILL do which I'm grateful for, but the staff here in those days like Mrs. Chin and the others, they made learning and borrowing DIFFICULT so in return, I made theirs lives difficult. Thank god for the Internet, I didn't have to deal with these knuckle heads anymore and I had a Westchester library card anyway. I hope they allow U to borrow a book for 4 weeks, it was a pain to do the 3 week thing because you always MISSED a book.
