::Love this place! I get my old school "galao" and toasted Portuguese bread with butter. They have no parking lot so you will need to double park or find a spot.

::Ready or nata... North Avenue Bakery, not to be confused by its next door partner North Avenue Luncheonette, is a busy Portuguese bakery located in the North End area of Elizabeth. The set-up is incredibly accurate to bakeries you'd find in Portugal. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, but most importantly delicious Portuguese and Brazilian baked goods. They serve likely the greatest pastel de natas in Elizabeth, the famous Portuguese egg custard tart. They even serve them in a variety of styles, including lemon meringue, dulce de leche covered, or traditional. You can find assorted Portuguese bread, pao de queijo, cinnamon sugar bread twists, cream custard buns, and much more. Give them a try if you're in the area - you won't regret it!

::Was recommended by a friend to come here for the famous "Portuguese Natas!" Which is known to have one of the best Natas that you will have in New Jersey, period! I've had Portuguese Natas from practically everywhere in New Jersey, but had a feeling that this location was disclosed and hidden that made me think that they do make the best natas, which is an old mom & pop shop in the area. I bought a dozen Natas for a Christmas party and everyone told me, "where did i buy these Natas from?, OMG! there super thick and heavy." So I highly recommend this location, if you want an authentic Portuguese Nata, that's crowd pleaser...Also the workers were very respectful and courteous to your needs. Definitely will be coming back for more.
