  New India Bazaar is a hidden gem in the Polk Gulch offering Indian foods and groceries you won't find anywhere else at a great and affordable price. Hari at the front is super friendly and helpful, too!

  All things Indian at this place. Exhaustive inventory. I thought it is bit overpriced, of course due to its location!

  One of the few stores in San Francisco specializing in Indian videos and music, spices, frozen dinners, packaged easy to prepare dinners, tea, apothecary, as well as incense. Has been there for 35 or 40 years per the owner's comments. It has the expected, delightful fragrance of such a store, is compact, old-fashioned, and well-stocked. The religious articles in the window, statues of Shiva, Laxmi and Ganesh, are an invitation to this other world, apart from the city, sublime yet earthy.
