::The usual horrible standards for treating patients as if they were little kids. I've gotten this at other dentists too. I'm 32. I make my own decisions about how I spend my money. But like my last dentist, this one also employs obnoxious high pressure tactics to get you to spend as much money as possible with them. It's absurd. I tell them I don't want an appointment and they throw a fit and won't take me off their schedule. I told the scheduler I don't want to make an appointment until I have clear answers on what my insurance will cover. He says I'll take your insurance information, leave you on the schedule for 10:45 the next morning, and have the insurance coordinator call you back right before the appointment to let you know if insurance covers it. He says when I talk to her I can cancel the appt if I want to. I wanted to cancel it right then. But he wouldn't. So I had to spend the morning hassling with the insurance lady because yesterday they forgot to get my birthdate to verify my insurance. So I didn't get my insurance coverage info until about 10 minutes before my appt time. I told her I didn't want to come in for the appt. She threw another fit, pressuring me to come in, making up stories about how quickly they could resolve everything with my tooth pain. I had to tell her numerous times that I didn't want to come in. It was like pulling teeth. She finally took me off the schedule. I won't bother trying to reschedule with a place like this. These high-priced dentist offices epitomize the snobby elitist attitude that looks down on ordinary people like us, acting like we also have unlimited time and money and can't make our own decisions about health care. Don't trust the elitist Washintonian Magazine's ranking that this place is one of the best dentists in the DC area.
