Love it. Enjoyed a great walk all along the National Mall during a warm sunny day. People from around the world are visiting. Must do and highly recommended. Make sure to start at the Lincoln memorial and finish at the Capitol by passing by the White House. Lot of museums are available there and most of the entrances are free of charge. You can rent a scooter or a bicycle, or just enjoy walking and taking photos. Check the weather forecast before you plan that day.

As a twenty-year veteran of the US Army, I was LONG overdue to visit Washington DC, but I only had time for a 2-hour visit, early in the morning (before my professional obligations of the day). I decided that if I was only going to get an opportunity to visit one site, I was going to walk (I had to run for about a mile of it) all the way around the National Mall. I am SO grateful for the opportunity to see the landmarks there during my brief visit, and I hope that have an opportunity to return someday, and spend some time to fully take in sites. I hope that visitors here can appreciate the MANY sacrifices that have been made, throughout this Nation's history, to spread freedom and hope to all mankind. I, for one, was overcome, even in my hurry, on several occasions, thinking of those who went before me, in service to this Nation. This visit was a deeply meaningful experience for me, and I would recommend such a visit to anyone who has the opportunity.

If your tourist, you owe to yourself to visit the national mall. Great location in DC, great people watching, awesome place to use as a landmark through going to the museum or as a reference of you feel like walking. Museums and joy if you feel like playing any pick up game. It is am early mall though. Its pretty dead after 10. So great for the family and classical type tourist. But if you consider yourself a travel, then a day place not evening sort experience.

Absolutely beautiful with the cherry blossoms in bloom. Did a lot of walking with so much to see and take in. We felt a wonderful connect to our history as a country and so appreciative of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Great to share with children for them to know where we came from and what it takes to set the best example of democracy and a world leader. So very much to see and do in DC, be sure you have time and make plans to see/do what's most important to you first. Enjoy!

This is America's living room - from here you can see the key monuments, museums and government buildings. A great place to visit whether you live here or are here visiting. As a runner this is one of my favorite places to park. I recommend using metro to get here as traffic is usually heavy and nearby parking hard to find. Great collection of food trucks no matter what you are hungry for. Go visit, and go back often.
