Both our kids attend Montessori In Town and we are very happy here. All the focus is on the children as it should be. It is a small but growing school that covers toddler through elementary level (toddler through 6th grade). Currently around 125 students are enrolled. Both our daughters make exceptional academic and personal progress. Staff is very engaged, committed and responsive. Very passionate about Maria Montessori's approach of teaching and learning. Reasonable private school tuition. Great lunch program with GF, vegan and vegetarian options. Any issues or concerns are promptly addressed by the administration. The best choice in the area for us!

As educators we are called to set the fundamental example of compassion, generosity, kindness, and love. For these are the true foundations of life, everything flows from this. I was hired as teacher here, for what I believed to be a loving place for both children and teachers alike. Shortly after being offered the position by the owner Augusta and Nan, my mother was in a terrible car accident, and then school went on Thanksgiving break, thankfully. Later, over the Thanksgiving break during dinner I received word of family friend who was approaching homelessness, and had no place for his dog. I had no plans on taking in a pet but I could not this poor dog to sent to the pound he already been tossed to another home and they didn't want him. So I decided to take him in, and within 15 hours I was a new first time dog owner! I was excited and a little scared, but I did it. During the first day of him he was constantly using the restroom and something just seemed "off" he seemed ill. I couldn't leave him at home alone for 7hours, on my first day at Montessori Intown was in the morning after I had him. I had ZERO rest I mean ZERO and the dog wouldn't let me out of his sight for the restroom. Needless, to say I called the veterinarian and he suggest I bring him in. I contacted the school and Augusta(the owner) to inform her that I needed at least 1 day or so to get the dog situation settled. Augusta told to "find a job somewhere else" .. in the meanest degrading tone I have even heard, and I found shocking from a Montessori school owner/teacher. On top of this, later that week I was informed by the veterinarian that my new dog has kidney disease and possibly has months to live. He needed medical treatment immediately. Now with NO job I am struggling to cover his medical cost. Later, that night after the coldness from Montessori Intown-Augusta I decided to send her note, begging her to please find it in her heart to give me second chance, as I promised to make it right, and I am truly a loving teacher. She replied "good luck". The way we treat one another and our neighbor is the core of life itself. As we all know children learn from us we are their model-including our energy. Certainly we want children at a place where genuine love, unselfishness, and compassion and modeled. I am deeply sadden by her treatment. Update: As of December 12, 2016 we had to put my dog down, so he is no longer with us. The wonderful vet gave his best care and guidance with the situation. I don't think have anymore tears left, this was the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life. I can rest knowing I took a selfless act to take him in my care. And in the end I lost my job and my dog lost his life. No one wins here. ****************Note to Augusta in reply to your note above: People are often unreasonable and self-centered, forgive them anyway-Mother Teresa. I forgive you and your staff for the selfish actions towards me, in a time when I needed it most. For the record, I tried you reach you serval days before I requested the day to handle my newly rescued dog ordeal** Not 1hr-that's totally false. Please, state the truth, as I have. The light always shines out darkness,

My son started school here last month and we are in love! The teachers exude kindness and patience, intelligence and care. The environment is peaceful and sophisticated. I can already tell a great difference in my son's attitude toward learning, his interests and demeanor. Love this community!

A school that still allows children to totally relish in being a child while allowing parents to grow and mature too. Love and community are truly the hallmarks of M.I.T. Our daughter loves it!

All 3 of my kids go to this school and I couldn't be more pleased. The teachers, faculty, and families are incredible, and a Montessori education is opening doors they would never have otherwise. My kids are so different from each other, so I never thought the same school would suit all 3 of them. I now see how Montessori schools accommodate all learning styles and personalities, and this one is fantastic.
