  Good food at prices college students can afford, decent beer selection, great atmosphere, and one of the stalwart establishments on Hillsborough St. Mitch's is an institution.

  Best bartender in Raleigh. I love her dearly. Also my go to place for a delicious and super affordable dinner and beer. Always have specials and never had a bad experience once. Love this place!

  This is a no frills hearty pub with cheap drinks and food. The house gumbo is my favorite and the ace pear ciders is delicious! However their sandwiches in my opinion are really minimalistic. I ordered the portabello mushroom sandwich and it was literally 2 slices of bread with a charred portabello and a slice of cheese. I'd say stick to their drinks, tacos, burritos and even their pasta is decent.

  This is the best place on Hillsborough St. It's hidden up the stairs and can be a little intimidating the first time you visit. Only barely noticing by a hanging sign and a menu on a tripod it front. Look for the door next to the coffee shop. Atmosphere is excellent and food is great. Drinks are good too. The food really sets it apart from a normal bar as they have fresh salads and great sandwiches. Or just order the cheese and crackers or a basket of grilled cheese for some great drinking food. Mitch's is busy during lunch, quiet most evenings, and electric during televised events. It's the best place to watch NC State basketball, but is also a great spot for presidential debates, states of the Union, etc. There's lots of regulars, so you get a kind of Cheer's vibe. Great for lunch, dinner, or late night.
