B is awesome salesman! I got my dream car for the price I'm looking for.

I only do reviews when I’ve had an exceptionally good or exceptionally bad experience. Unfortunately, this was exceptionally bad. Summary: SF Mini showed us a certified pre-owned car that was not certified pre-owned, then tried to pass off the accident on the Car Fax report as a minor fender bender per the previous owner, then played down the importance of CPO after they had to disclose the car was NOT CPO, and finally reluctantly shared with us the accident details: 14k worth of repairs. They wasted our time and tried to sell us a car that had major body repair done and probably had structural issues. Bottom line: Do not buy a care here. They are not upfront with details they know would kill the sale, or too lazy to verify details of a pre-owned car. Either way this reflects poorly on the whole dealership and should make every buyer wary. The details are: My husband and I went to SF Mini looking for a barely used Mini. The person we worked with, B, showed us Mini’s and a certified BMW they also had. We drove both and liked the BMW better. So, we returned the next day for one more test drive etc. When the paper work came up, we discovered there was an accident on the Car Fax report. We wanted all the details about it. The details B provided were vague, etc. but what was made clear was he knew the previous owner had a minor fender bender (this is apparently what she told him), the air bags didn’t deploy, and the car was CPO, so all good. We proceeded to the price haggling. It was lengthy and filled with excuses (all to be expected). Then we wait for another lengthy period of time. B returns and says, “slight glitch: the car is not CPO.” He said SF BMW marked it in their book as CPO so he thought it was. Okay, B, we want to know exactly why this car is not CPO. It had to be because of the accident. We pushed, we got a lot of talk about how some dealers don’t want to pay for the CPO process because it's expensive and this is why we’re getting such a good deal (Note, based on comps in the Bay Area this was not an exceptional deal, rather it was in line with the same car elsewhere). We pushed more. We wanted to see the accident records. B is reluctant and says he doesn’t have them. We said BMW must or the previous owner must, he'd need to get them if he wants to sell us the car. B goes “to call the previous owner.” We wait another lengthy period of time (we’re 3+ hours in and we’d already spent several hours the day before), and B finally comes back to tell us the previous owner’s “minor fender bender” was a rear end on the freeway that cost 14K to repair. We said tear up the paper work we’re not buying this car. Then he tried to sell us a Mini. Seriously??? We were exhausted and angry and not willing to buy a car from him or anyone else at SF Mini after that debacle. How do you not know about 14k of damage? 14k??? And who in their right mind would fork over money for a car that had damage that cost almost half the value of the car to repair? The fact that there was so much effort trying to pass off the accident as minor, to convince us CPO is not that big a deal, I suspect they knew and were hoping to get someone would just take their word it was no big deal and not ask for the details. However, if they didn’t know and SF BMW indeed pulled a fast one on them, then that is equally as bad that they are not doing basic checking before trying to sell a used car. In summary, don’t buy a car here. There are plenty of other dealers in the Bay Area.

This dealership is suspected to have done an Auto Dealer Fraud during my purchase last month. They performed a "bait and switch" and put a higher price on the contract secretly with me unaware. This dealership sold me a car with the price much higher (almost $3000) than the advertised price. I will have my attorney contact them and report their fraud on media. Please go to this place if you want to buy a car just for a much higher price than its advertised price. It is the BEST dealership to go when you want to waste time and money and be treated like a fool.

Great sales people here. But when you decide and meet with finance manager, he can constantly lie to you even in eye contact. Be careful and never trust the finance manager here. And after he lies, all those great sales guys cannot help and they get in deep silence.
