Quick service for brunch. Often a wait. Fluffiest buttermilk pancakes.

This was my second time here and it was great! I’ve needed this place to deliver a great experience for me twice now and they did a great job both times. Metropolis will be a go to place for me if I’m hosting guests in town and taking them out. Does cost money, but people love their meals here.

Tried out Metropolis during restaurant week and wasn't very impressed with the set menu they chose for the week. The soup was fairly tasty but also a bit watery for a tomato bisque, though the cheesy toast was a nice addition. I ordered the cauliflower steak because it sounded interesting but unfortunately was basically half a steamed head of cauliflower thrown on the grill for a little bit. It could have been much nicer if it were charred more or had some more of a sauce or something, I would just figure that if you're serving half a head of califlower that you'd try to jazz it up more. The lamb ragu was pretty nice but the pasta was a bit under done. The desserts were alright but again fairly plain and nothing to write home about. The service however was great and the wine we picked was pretty nice so we're definitely open to trying the place out again and ordering from the regular menu next time.

We chose this for our first night in Boston, and a place to enjoy with a friend. I was very happy with the food, and found all of it very tasty. The wines we had all went down smoothly. No complaints. It's not the high end, as are many of our restaurants when traveling, but it's a fun place, with wonderful and innovative food, and a gritty, energetic ambiance.
