::Yesterday, after attempting to download an update for the Flash Player on my phone, I unknowingly downloaded a virus instead, better known as "ransom-ware". This form of virus uses an application that appears to be a law enforcement agency (Police, FBI, DEA, etc. etc.) that has locked your device due to finding illegal material (Alleging that the user has downloaded "illegal pornography") on your phone. The application makes the user unable to access the phones settings, even after attempting to turn the device off/on, and states that the user must pay a $500 fine, in order to lift the lock off of the device and that they need to purchase a vanillaone visa prepaid card and enter the cards information, to do so. Very obviously, it's a scam, even for someone who doesn't know that this type of cyber crime exists. This morning, I went in to this MetroPCS store to get help, and to reset the phone back to factory settings. After talking with one of the employees briefly, explaining the situation, I handed her my phone, she looked at it, saw the alleged "illegal pornography picture" and then refused to help me because she said she "wasn't comfortable doing so and I would need to go to the corporate store." I could understand her immediate apprehension, the virus did look somewhat official, however, my thought was that someone who worked at a mobile phone store, would be aware of such a common issue. She wasn't aware, and refused to make any attempt whatsoever to become aware. I asked if she could look in to the matter by calling the corporate store (because I wasn't able to do so with the virus blocking any access to my phone) and she flat out refused. I then asked for her name and she refused, saying "that's none of your business." I asked to speak to the manager and she replied "I am the manager." i said "this is absolutely ridiculous, can you please help me with this problem?" That's when she starting raising her voice and repeating over and over again, "there is too much pornography on your phone" and was saying it so loud, that all the other customers heard her and began laughing. She then tells me that I need to leave the store, and I replied "I'll leave when you do your job, and help me with this issue." At that point, she informs me that she is going to call the police and then proceeds to do so. I don't own my own vehicle currently, and I walked 2 miles from my home, without a working phone, to fix my phone, otherwise, I would've just went to the corporate store. This is by far, the most unprofessional employee I have ever encountered. I've been with metroPCS for over two years, and even if I was a new customer, this type of disrespect should NOT have happened. This is completely unacceptable behavior and it reflects on the entire metroPCS business. I WILL continue to do what it takes for this employee to be held accountable for her actions.
