  My daughter saw Dr. Gulati this morning. She was extremely unprofessional and unpleasant. Her first comment was, "Your face is depressed." This was said without even examining her or speaking to her. She kept repeating this comment. My daughter said that she wasn't depressed, but didn't feel well physically. The doctor had never seen my daughter before so she really had no frame of reference for this remark. If she was indeed depressed, this kind of treatment might have even been dangerous, as depressed people are in a fragile mental state to begin with. They need care and compassion and not judgement. When my daughter attempted to relay her symptoms, she was not even listened to. Even as a layperson, I would have evaluated her for hypothyroidism, because she has classic symptoms, but the doctor was interested in only humiliation. To add insult to injury, she broadcast my daughter's personal business to the support staff in a disparaging way, loud enough to be heard by all in the waiting room. My daughter ending up leaving without being treated, because she could no longer tolerate the incompetence and disrespect. The support staff was very good, it was just this doctor. What an awful woman. My daughter will be reporting this unnecessarily disrespectful professional misconduct to the New York State Department of Health. Dr. Gulati can expect a formally filed complaint against her.

  In the past I have had great experiences. However, my sister went here this morning and was treated terribly by the Internest, Saroj Gulati. This doctor had NO bedside manner. She humiliated my sister and had no compassion towards her needs. There was absolutely no excuse for her behavior. My sister who has no PCP came here in hopes for a blood test and possibly a referral. What she received was a lot worse. The woman walked in and without a greet told her “your face looks depressed. I’m an internest. I cannot help you with that.” Who starts off a visit like that? Who is she to diagnose her with depression. Talk about an unfair preconception. Then she proceeds to talk to the staff in front of the people in the waiting room about her personal private medical needs. Absolutely no excuse for that. Never heard of a doctor being this rude and cruel to a patient who is in a vulnerable position. People are already nervous when going to a doctor and to receive this experience has no excuse. By employing this doctor, Dwell Medical has lost mine and my family’s patronage. I would come here for many of my medical needs but no more. It’s a shame that this one doctor has tarnished the reputation of this office considering how well my previous experiences have been. I will continue to warn friends and family about this doctor and this facility in general. They should know better than to hire a doctor who has supposedly been in practice for years but doesn’t have a single review on the internet. If that isn’t a red flag, I don’t know what is. Absolutely inexcusable.
