::I had to stay at this hospital for nearly 5 days. The worth ethic is horrendous and the attitude of the nurses with patients is even worse. I lost hours of sleep each night because it took an average of 30 minutes for a nurse to respond to surrounding patients in pain. The way each aide and nurse spoke behind each other’s back was not reassuring at all as someone who depended on them. If you needed help within an hour before or after shift changes, you had to wait. No matter what. I personally shared a room with an elderly man who had spine surgery. Each time the regular nurse was called into the room she gave attitude and an uncaring, uncooperative attitude so bad that he reported her. There were no change of gowns or hospital socks offered the entire week. No one knew that there was a shower or even a patients lounge at the end of the hall. (The doctors knew this and held meetings regularly in the lounge.) With being discharged, the entire team took about 10 hours to make it happen. The first 4 hours were nurses saying they would check and never getting back. An hour of having to walk myself to the nurses station down the hall for them to finally tell me it wasn’t in the system yet. This is also when Nurse Kelly came to my room red in the face with an attitude because I called 45 minutes later to get an update. The next 4 were trying to get ahold of the proper doctor to be discharged by. Only when I called the patients advocate and he start calling superiors did I get results from anybody. An aide even said that 7pm was the earliest she had ever seen the doctor come to that floor. Hopefully I can get my records sent to my doctor once their records department opens Monday morning without having to call them every hour.

::If I can rate this hospital 0 stars I would. My pregnant wife came into the emergency room and as we were waiting for her to get an MRI, which was ready 2 hours before we were brought to the MRI, the nurse has the audacity to tell her she was going to go eat lunch while another nurse told her to take care of her patients first then go eat. She had the nerve to say “ well we need more nurses then” . MIND YOU my wife has been saying she’s hungry before she went into the MRI

::My son was brought to the hospital by ambulance from a yoga class, the instructor thought he was having a stroke. My son was brought in and no one went in the room for 40 minutes, after 40 minutes he left. I called Ronald Steiner, he is the President of the hospital. The first call was left on his assistants voice mail Nancy Carr, that call was on Jan 25. no return call, I then spoke to Nancy on Jan 26 and told her I would like to discuss the experience with Ronald Steiner, she told me he was in a meeting at 9:30 am and would be for another 1/2 hour. Today Feb 14 I called again and spoke to Nancy. I told her I wanted to speak to Ronald about an experience, I also explained to her its been over 2 weeks now since the first call. Her answer was "sometimes Ronald will not return patients phone calls." I could not believe the answer, your in the business of helping people and saving lives. Why wouldn't Ronald be interested in making his hospital a better facility. What a shame beware don't go to this hospital if you need help. Ronald should be fired. Ronald you should take a ride you and your staff into Manhattan and take a lesson from the HSS they do it right. You should be fired what a crime. Read these reviews they are terrible stay away from this place. This hospital patient care will not change until Ronald is replaced. He is not concerned about his patients. Fire Ronald already do you care about your patients, does any of the board members look at these reviews? Is it only about the money or helping people, hide behind those CEO doors, walk your hospital and fix it.

::The Surgery unit is top notch. From Admissions, Pre-Surgical Testing, and the teams performing actual surgeries are all top notch. I have been there a few times for surgeries and I feel like everyone there cares and gives great care to all patients.

::i’m currently at Mercy Medical Center. and my father slit his finger and we’ve been here for 4 hours already. we received no help and we’re in the emergency room. please don’t go to mercy medical center. how long does it take to stitch up my dads finger so we can go home? if you need help right away, go to a different hospital. you won’t be seen or taken care of right away. it’s a waste of time
