::This is a unique gym with fantastic trainers who take a holistic approach to fitness and overall health. Not to be confused with Crossfit, the primary training format is rooted in a variety of calisthenics protocols that anyone can step into if they want to learn to grow strong, flexible and mobile using only their bodyweight and a few basic tools that have been around since the dawn of civilization (bars, ropes and rings). They offer guided training throughout the week typically structured as routines focused on Push/ Pull / Leg movements, and they provide additional sessions focused on breathing, flexibility, and recovery. If you want to learn how to dial-in in that perfect straight handstand, Jimmy offers a class at noon on Sundays to do just that for you. I've had nothing but positive experiences with Mekanix and I highly recommend anyone to try it out for themselves accordingly.

::If you desire to improve your mobility, flexibility, balance, strength and endurance in an atmosphere that’s part old school, part advanced method- Mekanix should be on your short list. Justin and his team are passionate about their craft and their clientele. Body work- breath work- mind work- active and passive recovery methods- nutrition -all part of what Mekanix provides their base in a group training environment that’s structured for results and fun factor. And if you think you can’t afford it you’d be wrong; it may be the best value add in Houston. One needs 3 solid things in life- good doctor, good lawyer, good Mekanix.

::After years of frequenting a typical big box gym, I had been tossing around the idea of mixing up my exercise routine with something new and different. So when a friend mentioned Mekanix and their unique body-weight training with calisthenics , I perked up... and a few days later, signed up. The class was engaging, challenging, and at times, flat out exhausting. It was clear that I was working my body in ways that I never had before. I also appreciated that equipment was new and that the facility was clean and well-maintained. And a big shout out to our instructor, Candice, for explaining each exercise so well, keeping us moving through them at a quick pace and for encouraging us to push our limits by squeezing out that last rep or two. I highly recommend.

::I have been attending the calisthenics classes for a month and I couldn't be more happy! The classes are amazing and the best part; you can noticed in your body how you get stronger and with more energy than usual. The teachers are very helpful too. I can't wait to get my 1% better in every class.
