Very pleased with my visit. My four year old son had a terrible ear infection. They treated him and walked us next door for his antibiotic all in less than 30 minutes. They were very caring and made him feel better just being there. As a working mom who lives in the neighborhood, this was a very fast and convenient visit. We will definitely be back to see them next time!

Staff was friendly and professional. The doctor was sooo helpful. Phoned in my prescription and it was ready in the time it took to walk next door to Walgreens. The one complaint I had is kind of a deal breaker for me. The whole time I was checking in at the front counter there was an overpowering smoke smell. I looked around half-expecting to see an overflowing ashtray under my nose. I asked the lady at the front counter if they let people smoke in there and she seemed a bit annoyed. It was so strong it gave me a headache to go with my sore throat. I had to do some maintenance on the alarm system at a Keno hall recently, and it was no worse than the front office of this urgent care center. Unsurprisingly when I drove out I saw the same gal outside the building smoking up a storm. I understand people can smoke on their break time, it's not a crime, but I recommend a better ventilation system and maybe some febreeze over having that gross stench hanging in the air. In any case I noticed there's another Med Express up by 72nd and Ames so I'll try that one next time. Won't be back to this one.

It's funny; I was going to initially write a positive review, with nothing but good things to say about this place. That has changed. The receptionist was kind and helpful when I walked in to be seen; two nurses came in; and then the NP. I was seen very quickly. As a result of the visit, I was referred to another facility to follow-up. They made the appointment for me and everything and called to let me know when and where it would be. I got a follow-up call just to see how I was doing, along with a survey invitation via e-mail. I ended up having to reschedule that appointment that I got a referral for. I called MedExpress hoping they would be able to help me find alternate facilities specializing in the service I needed. I figured they would be the best ones to contact; since they arranged everything for me. The lady that answered, don't remember her name, was so disinterested and rude. You could hear the irritation in her voice. She put me on hold; came back to the line; told me they only give out one referral and i'm on my own after that. Fine, I said that I would call around myself. She said okay, and hung up. I called back at a later time, really needing assistance and a sense of urgency; I spoke with the NP who assisted me the day I went in. She wasn't very concerned either. She advised me to keep my appointment, which I couldn't. She said I wouldn't be able to get in this week (week of 2/19/18). I also spoke to a gentleman, who after gathering my information, told me the NP was seeing another patient at the moment. It's like they were preparing each other for unwanted complaints/concerns. The best part about all of this is; as one should always do, I did some research of my own. I called around and found a specialty provider who could see me as a new patient in just a couple of days (that same week)! If they would have just shown a little more empathy and concern for patients, instead of just trying to blow them off, all the hoops I was sent through could have been avoided.

I called at 7:45p to see if they would still see me (knowing they closed at 8). The ‘nurse’ proceeded to keep putting me on hold to ask the doctor questions. I’m sure she was stalling. At one point in the conversation she actually told me that I would have to pay for that visit and the ER if they couldn’t stitch it up (I cut my thumb). I get it now that she was discouraging me from coming in because they all wanted to leave at 8. I left immediately after hanging up and got there no later than 8:01. I guess I should have just went in instead of calling but kind of glad I didn’t. I prefer my medical professionals to actually care about what they do. It’s a little farther to drive but I guess I’ll stick with my Methodist people (physicians clinic) and leave these strip mall docs to treat people that trust strip mall docs. This place was a joke and I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time.

Great service, great care. And fast! Also sits right next door to a Walgreens, so any prescriptions can be immediately filled. Exactly what I needed!
