  this is one of the best bars we visited in portland, their selection is vast and unique while also retaining fair prices. it was a bit unclear as to who the bartender was, so we weren’t quite sure who to order new drinks from which was a bit confusing at times. I also noticed that the entire staff was eerily quiet.. I don’t know if this is a company-wide atmospheric standard, but it was kind of awkward to be sitting at a bar with a silent bartender.. when I made a comment to one of the other staff members he seemed offended that I brought it up.. honest observations are made and communicated to help better future experiences, a more light-hearted atmosphere would have made us feel more comfortable. oh, the food here is amazing as well, we partook in some happy hour bar bites, but they were so complexly prepared, totally changed the way the palate accepted them. I would love to make time to see a movie here during our next visit, and hopefully by then the staff will have loosened up a bit :)

  Loved The Bagdad. Can't wait to bring the family when they visit. Theater was built in the twenties I think and maintains that epic vibe. Didn't get any food other than some candy, but the cherry cider was awesome. The wife had the rabbit red wine and was pleased with that, until I let her have some of my cider. It then became her cider. As already stated get there early. I want to shoot for a seat on the balcony, food service would be nice but I just want to get the view.

  Excellent mix of movie theater experience, pub casuality, and sports enthusiasm. I had like 4 separate amazing experiences at this property and am blown away at their individuality and uniqueness. Thank you McMenamins brothers for doing what you do, which is to incorporate music, entertainment, comfort, good food, and absolute enjoyment at each and every one of your locations. I love how you appreciate the history of your locations, and build upon it. You are my kind of people, and I hope to share a pitcher of ale, and great conversation at a concert with you someday at one of your locations. 🌞🎶🌞🎶🌞🎶🌞🎶🌞🎶🎶🌞

  Bagdad Theater is at a prime location! It’s right next to Portland Cider Company and all of the eclectic shops on Hawthorne. Powell’s Books is across the street! And they have a really cool Greater Trumps cigar bar next door and the Backstage Bar has awesome games! The Theater itself has great seating no matter where you sit but I really enjoyed sitting in the upper area where you are looking down on the giant screen! The lower area is where they’ll serve you though and you probably get a better view of the screen. But you can’t go wrong with anything here!

  I used to go all of the time, but I haven't been here in years. So this was the first time I've been since the remodel/upgrade. Loved the new seats. The food line was long as usual, but moved really quickly. Staff was helpful and accommodated my special order. I was here to see Black Panther so it was packed. Sat all the way in the back of the balcony (you have to sit upstairs if you want your food delivered). Still good seats. Overall, very happy with the experience.
