  I was over the moon when I found there was a cigar shop downtown. But, getting to it if you don't work or live in downtown Houston is problematic. No parking, on a one way street, near a busy intersection & ongoing construction on the sidewalk almost made me miss the entrance (took the metrorail train to chk it out). Another old small cigar shop, so definitely nothing special. It was basically 2 rooms, the outside smoking section w 3-4 chairs, 2 tvs and the humidor. Selection was limited to either popular or highend sticks (pricey, felt the markup was a little steep), sadly little variety, but they appear to offer what sells in downtown Houston. Also their weekend hours are spotty due to closing to deter homeless people coming in and camping out. With a lack of diverse brands and all of the other drawbacks I discovered. I decided it was too much of a headache to put this spartan shop on my list of local smoke shops to patronize. So, if you work or live in downtown Houston McCoys is a fair option for cigars, but travel a little further and try Spec's on Smith just south of downtown for better value and a more diverse selection, ijs.

  This is a fun place to hang out and smoke cigars. I've been going here for 25 years. They have a nice humidor and an Eclectic group of people to visit with. The conversation is always very interesting.

  It was a good environment, extremely helpful. Got 2 cigars and now I want to get a whole lot more. Definitely worth the price, will be going back as much as I can.
