::THIS. IS. WHERE. YOU. GET. CANNOLI. Forget the tourist advice that sends you to somewhere on Hanover. Maria is doing it right. She fills your cannoli to order. And the riccota filling is to die for. I went here when I lived in Boston and always make a point to stop when I'm visiting.

::Small little shop. The pastries are amazing. Clearly a family business. Wonderful.

::My husband and I had a plan macaroon, a slice of Boston cream pie, and an original cannoli. It was amazing! We had just waited in line for about 10 minuets at another bakery called modern that was recommended to us as well. However, Maria’s was just phenomenal and no wait!!! I highly recommend this bakery!

::We’re told to try Mike’s but went here after not having cash on hand (only cash is accepted at Mike’s). They require a $10 minimum purchase with card- so we tried a plain vanilla cannoli as well as chocolate dipped vanilla one and best of all a mini ricotta pie. The cannolis were good, but the mini ricotta pie was delicious! Would go back there for that alone.

::Fresh! Service with a smile. This was the opposite experience I had at Mike's Pastry Shop. Maria is the actual person that bakes. Before we could order, loyal local customers volunteered their recommendations as they walked past us. We had cannolis. The pastry was flakey and fresh and the filling creamy. She doesn't combine the two until you tell her what you want. This is a no frills, kind shop that makes a few things with care and pride.
