::Ron (the owner of the company) came to my house to address concerns I had regarding powder post beetles in my crawlspace. The wood silplate down there (the piece of wood between the concrete foundation and the subfloor) looked as if it was rotting or had been eaten by insects. I also noticed some led-size pencil holes and, after googling online, led me to believe it was powder post beetles. After talking with Ron on the phone, I was impressed with his knowledge of powder post beetles. Upon arriving he had done some research into my home (year built etc) and told me that I had white pocket rot and not powder post beetles. He then proceeded to show me online pictures to illustrate the difference between white pocket rot and powder post beetles. Since the only treatment for an active powder post beetle infestation is fumigation which requires a tent put over the entire house and a cost running into the 10's of thousands of $, I was very happy with his honesty on the matter!
