::First visit and disappointed. I was looking at the baked goods which they had a variety to choose from. I saw the empanadas which were rather small to what I'm used to. There were no labels so I have to ask what was the fillings (chicken, beef, etc.). I stood by the counter waiting to be serviced which seems like a long time. I heard workers behind the curtains and even a man came out to go to the register. But he came back and went back to the back without acknowledging my presence. Finally Lola (elderly) came to help me. There was a register at the bakery side, but I was told to go to the grocery check-out which had a long line with one cashier working. I bought empanadas, and cheese bread. I tried the empanadas first and I was disappointed. It was hard and the fillings were dry and tasteless. I tried another in case the first one was from an old batch. Same thing--dry and hard. I tried the cheese bread next and the cheese fillings were hard (chunky pieces) and have not melted with the bread dough (looks like it). Disappointed again. I have mix opinion to give them another try, but the prices were rather high. I don't mind the prices if the baked goods tasted good. The customer service is lacking and my visit was around 2:30 pm. On a positive note--the grocery aisles are wider than the typical Asian markets.

::Wide selection of Filipino/Asian grocery items and a small sit in restaurant for your daily Filipino meal cravings. I had arroz caldo which is a rice porridge dish, gulaman which is a cold sweet beverage and pork siomai which is derived from Chinese dumplings. The staff were friendly but were not enough to assist the influx of customers. There is a separate till for the restaurant and grocery section and I waited for quite awhile waiting to pay for the food I ate. I grew impatient after waiting 15 minutes so I proceeded to do some grocery. Upon checkout, I just mentioned to the cashier there that I haven't paid for the food at the deli and asked if she can just add to my grocery bill which she did.

::Doing our road trip from Texas-Canada -Alaska I would say it's a one stop shop in Anchorage. Mabuhay! A must stop for our food supply refill, lol. We visit both store Stop N' Shop and Manila Bake. Ate in Stop N' Shop was very friendly, and welcoming customer service. She also gave us more tips where and what to visit while in Alaska. At Manila Bake, the Kuya and Nanay in the Manila Bake were busy with other customers during our visit (so patience please), but we have been very well looked after when it was our turn to pay. I even ask Nanay to refill my hot water thermos to take with me on the road which she kindly gave. This is our second time stopping in both stores coming back from Howard and Seward, AK. Grocery pa more and refilling our bellies on our way up to Denali and Fairbanks. Maraming Salamat po!

::The food is amazing and the staff is friendly and extremely happy. While we were waiting for our food, there were people singing in the back and one of they ladies there reminded me of my wife's mother (in a good way). I will definitely be going back soon! On a side note though, I thought it was strange that they sell Kirkland brand tomato sauce.
