  This a nice large mad mex . The food and service are good. Free parking at night in the valet lot across the street. Parking during the day can be difficult but worth the effort, there are great lunch specials... update. I think they use the lot across the street in the day now, but it is often full

  Food is tasty and they have vegetarian options too. But I felt a bit congested, because we were 8 people wanting to sit together. But the place wasn't comfortable to make the table joins or make some arrangements. We just crammed us in a small sitting, instead of splitting us in small groups and separate tables.

  Everything lack luster. Weak margarita..was so confused by the catfish in my fish taco- not a good mix of flavors. I love some good catfish, but aside from that flavor having no business in a taco- it had that strong farm raised nasty taste- you know, from living its life in its own refuse... And I wouldn't say it tasted fresh either. Our waitress did a great job with our large party- I really wish I could remember her name...

  I have been to Mad Mex in Oakland and even though it is much smaller, the experience is much better there. We were seated fairly quickly on a Thursday night even though we had to wait a few minutes. I invited friends and told them the burritos are huge at Mad Mex, because they are at the Oakland location. So 5 of us (there were 6 of us in total) ordered the burritos and when they came out, they were half the size of the ones I have gotten before. I cut into my burrito and it was not what I ordered either. I really enjoy the shrimp mushroom spinach burrito and mine had chicken of sorts in it. I then mentioned it to the waitress and she had me a whole new burrito made in 10 minutes or so. By the time my burrito arrived, my friends we just about done eating because the burrito was much smaller than what I had before. But unfortunately, I could barely tell the burrito was what I ordered because I counted in the whole burrito and there we 7 shrimp and very small pieces of mushroom and spinach but no shortage of rice. When I get the burrito at Oakland location, I get massive pieces of mushroom and no shortage of shrimp with not a ton of rice. I guess I am just disappointed in the inconsistency of locations.

  I was impressed with the enchilada that I ordered. The meat was well seasoned and portioned. Almost a whole plate worth of add ins: guacamole, sour cream, rice, a tomato salsa mix. The blue corn bread is an unexpected must have! I wish they had deals on enchiladas for happy hour or something. The bar staff was also very friendly.
