::NO RETURNS! FOR ANY REASON! Even if it expired a year ago. This store is close to my house. I needed something to finish a meal I was preparing and thought I should try this place out. I mean, hey, I've always overlooked it, but there's no harm in trying out somewhere new! It's nearby, too! When I went inside, things looked good. Shelves were sparse, but I could see myself returning to buy more frequently. I wish I didn't. I bought something (overpriced, but understandable because it's a small store, I guess) that expired... A year ago. I bought it and went out the door. Not even two minutes later, I realized that it expired Jan 2017 and walked back to return it. Yeah, I should have checked the expiration date beforehand. Dumb move on my part, but at the same time, who expects to be sold something so past due it's expiration date? When I went inside to make an exchange, the first thing the cashier did was point at the camera recording above her and tell me their "policy." Then she pointed at the small sign in front of the counter, which said something along the lines of, "NO RETURNS/EXCHANGES ONCE YOU'RE OUT THE DOOR." She said that she had me on tape exiting the place. Alright. I won't fight for $3. I was willing to buy something else instead because A) They didn't lose any money, actually GAIN because they would have to throw away what I returned anyways, and B) I wouldn't have wasted my time walking there. I would have returned many more times, too, and spent more money. But it was against their policy. With the small selection of things on the shelves, I would have thought that they would be able to keep track on when things expire. Thought wrong. So, I lost $3, but they lost a customer and many potential ones. Fair enough. Thanks, lady. To you reading this, go to the Circle K next door.
