::Friendly service and great comfort food. Here is a great example of a business that knows who it's customers are and what they want. Good food at a fair price with good service. Like most people I found out about this place as a result of the Gargantuan cinnamon rolls (Got a pic) and Chicken fried steak. Most people won't attempt the challenge to eat the chicken fried steak dinner in 12 minutes I'm sure. This place isn't local to me but if it was I would come back.

::our visit was from 1 to 3:30pm on mother's day afternoon. they ran out of straws. the food took a really long time to come out. I ordered the club and it was very basic and did not taste good. I tasted my wife's chicken fried chicken, no flavor but at least it was hot. I tasted my mom's chicken fried steak and it did not taste good and it was chewy like bubble gum. I did not go to the bathroom but my brother told me it was disgusting. our waitress was very nice but she would disappear. I have never given any place a one star review.

::We came at 7:30 in the morning on 4-29-18. One employee was doing another employee's makeup and hair on the corner of the dining area. Literally no one was working besides our waitress (who was nice but her hair wasn't pulled back). We came for the famous 3 lb. Cinnamon bun. It was kinda dry and the icing just poured down into a puddle on the plate. It tasted like something you could make at home. I would advise against going here.

::Filthy restaurant! Thus the reason they don't want photos taken inside. There was a nasty mop bucket with black water and a stinky mop left in the dining room. The tables were all dirty. The floor...ugh. Moldy a/c units in dining room. And the restrooms aren't usable. The food is pathetic...my dog wouldn't even want to eat it. Waitstaff doesn't care and their attitude shows it. We will not return.

::We arrived at 8 p.m. We were the only people there, and honestly we had no idea what to expect. We sat down and we're greeted right away with a very friendly waitress who explain the specials in 3 lb cinnamon roll and left us to peruse the menu. My dinner companions shows liver and onions and I chose fried mushrooms with a side of mashed potatoes because I wasn't terribly hungry. The photos are of the fried mushrooms and my side of mashed potatoes. I also chose brown gravy but forgot to take a photo of it. The brown gravy had to be made separately as it was made to order. The muffin pictured is a chocolate muffin that was in the bakery case that I brought home for breakfast today everything came out hot and fresh and was extremely tasty. My dinner companions both complimented to liver and onions saying that it was perfectly cooked and very good. My potatoes were in fact smashed, and perfectly seasoned. My brown gravy was the best brown gravy I have ever had in an restaurant! We bought the cinnamon roll to have today. I can't wait to try it. The muffin was perfectly balanced-not too rich and delicious. The light cinnamon crumb topping adds to the flavor. I would recommend Lulu's to anyone visiting San Antonio. Other people came in after we ordered, by the way.
