::The bagels are good, but it seems to me not only from my account but from others in the neighborhood, that the lady which we presume to be the owner, has a particular problem being polite to patrons of color. When on the line waiting to order guess are greeted with smile and hello, that stops when she gets to you. If God forbid they make a mistake with your order, the attitude that follows is unmatched. But they do have good bagels.

::It's good, not great. Pumpernickel bagel was a little strangely dry but the veggie cream cheese was good. Can't speak for other food. Also the service was a little unfriendly, didn't get our order right and insisted we got something we didn't. Also there was a generous amount of black pepper on all bagel sandwiches, so make sure to specify if you don't like black pepper! Coffee was very tasty as well, cold brew and hot.

::The #2 Bagel with Salmon and dill is scrumptious. Had the coffee for the first time today and it was really nice as well. Nothing amazingly special just a regular strength coffee but it was very smooth gentle which went well with the rich bagel.

::In theory I would prefer to buy bagels from a venerable Jewish bakery than a hipster cafe, but in reality Lula's bagels are excellent New York bagels, so I can live with it. I was surprised to discover just how much I like their whole wheat bagels in both plain and everything varieties. Typically I would be puritanical about the original white flour giving the best texture, but I actually kind of prefer the more full-bodied, thicker texture of the whole wheat. A whole wheat bagel sandwich with veggie cream cheese and sliced tomato is a solid bet, as is the lox sandwich if you're willing to spend nearly $10. The almond croissant I had was nothing special, so my advice would be to stick to the bagels. Highly recommended.

::I normally love Lula. The food is good and the service too though it's usually quite busy. However just now I walked in to hear the most atrocious music I've ever had the displeasure to hear. In the 2 minutes I was in there I heard just about every cus word there is. That's not only unnecessary but disgusting. I just can't go back in there. It's a quaint neighborhood coffee shop, not a hook up spot. Is that what people think is cool about this neighborhood? Let's move to crown heights where the black people are and play the most degrading music we can find and then we'll be cool. I'm so disappointed.
