  I have been going to this lake for years. My family really enjoyed camping by the lake. Although, this year on memorial weekend I had the worst experience ever. My family was terrorized by drunk rednecks throughout the night. It honestly felt like something out of a mad max movie. Drunk idiots riding around on golf carts around our campsite, shouting and honking the horn 6-7 times throughout the night. They even felt bold enough to come back to our camp to ensue a fight because they claimed we threw a bottle at them, despite us not even having bottles on our camp site and the fact that it was 2 in the morning. These cowards wanted to terrorize a camp filled with primarily women and children. Although, when all of the men woke up to address the conflict they backed down, while proclaiming that it is a free county. As a veteran and having other veterans on my campsite I took this as an insult. Do we not have the same right to enjoy an weekend of chaos free camping? Why did these degenerates feel compelled to harass a black family that weekend? We were being quite and civilized, yet these rejects from Deliverance desired to target us. We called the police and park rangers, but they could not locate the people. So I loaded up my family that night and went back home and gathered our supplies the following morning. Because, I needed to remove my family from harms way. Although, The camp staff was nice and understanding and even gave me a refund for the night, but a refund won’t take away the trauma it caused to my children. I have no malice towards loyd park nor the parks and recreations department. As a whole I love the lake and the park, but when you have degenerates like the ones we encountered it really puts a bad taste in your mouth. More than likely we will not be returning to loyd park. It’s unfortunate, because we are avid campers and love nature, and camping at the lake was a family tradition. I would rate the park a 5 star hands down, but being harassed by drunk rednecks in the wee hours of the morning a -10.

  This small park carries quite a surprising punch! Very quiet, beautiful scenery, extremely courteous and helpful staff make this park a must go to place for some weekend rest and relaxation. Cleanest restroom and shower facilities I've ever experienced and two thumbs up for the individual shower rooms providing maximum privacy.

  A great place to hit on the Weekend's. Good clean camping site's. Ducks squirrels are not to afraid you being there.. Camping as we speak with the Boy Scouts pac 421. Prices are good. Come in go with no pressure.

  Great place for a group picnic, company event, or just a weekend getaway camping in a tent or RV. There is plenty to do.... canoeing, kayaking, boating, fishing and camping. There is a real sand swimming area, pavilions, volleyball areas, a hotel/lodge, and over 200 campsites. They also host a variety of events for the whole family during the summer.

  Great place to be with good friends and family. Peaceful. And big lots . can't get no better.
