GO TO A REAL DENTAL PRACTICE AND THANK ME LATER. THIS IS A CHOP SHOP. shoddy work, unprofessional atmosphere, inexperienced staff. 2 separate procedures and I full on choked no less than 4 times during EACH because assistant couldn't properly operate suction/water. recieved burns on my inner lip from the uv gun used to set cement for filling. questionable amount of tooth drilled out for filling/crown leaving large gap to accumulate food and require constant flossing to the point that I began eating less. cheap temp crown chipped within 2 days. told permanent crowns would be ready in "a few weeks" no appointment made or date set.

Everyone was super friendly. Marie and Dr Langston walked me through everything, let me know me fees and treatment plans in advance, and generally made gluing to the dentist not suck.

This place is just ghetto and unprofessional. After refusing to do my filling (which is cement, seems illogical to say it would fall out from my teeth grinding, but whatever) without getting an expensive ($400+) personalized night guard for my intermittent teeth grinding. I told them I did not want the service done unless it was covered by my insurance. I explicitly requested to make sure it was covered. The technicians told me it was and that they had spoken with Blue Cross Blue Shield upon my next visit, we do the fillings (painfully, the hygienist did not wait for the numbing shots to take effect before going to town on my mouth) and an uncomfortable fitting for this ridiculous mouth guard that A) does not fit B) I spit out in my sleep. Why, if they had not actual spoken with the insurance company would they tell me this? I would NOT have proceeded otherwise. Now several months down the road I am being billed for this $400 mouth guard I did not want that does not even fit correctly, after the Manager, (Err-ee-kaa?), told me that they were writing it off since they had INCORRECTLY told me it was covered when we spoke in her office. Now the manager is going back on her word for some reason, and I am being sent to credit audit for this whole grievance. She had no patience for me when I tried to reason with her on the phone and was rude, blaming everything on my insurance and that it happened when she wasn't there but her staff is not to blame and urged me not to write a negative review (probably because there are already many on here). I am very upset with Louisiana Dental Center and with my insurance company. I have no patience for this kind of rampant unprofessionalism and negligence, and will NOT be going back here and I suggest you don't either unless you want surprise bills and sh*tty attitude from people who are supposed to be dental professionals. To not leave a *completely* negative review, I will site that they had a somewhat clean and new facility, the fillings I have are lasting, and my regular hygienist, not the one who put my fillings in, was very kind although I can not remember her name. Other than that, this place is kind of garbage.

I felt like I was not the customer here -- my insurance company was. Whatever the insurance company paid for was the service I was receiving, no more or less. First, they made me wait for over an hour for my appointment because they needed to first contact my insurance company before they would work on me at all. Once they were finally ready they took me straight to x-rays. Why? Because I asked for x-rays or had pain? No, because my insurance would pay them for it. I told them I was pregnant and hesitant to get x-rays but they insisted and ended up taking a ton them just to tell me that my teeth look perfect. When I told them, yeah, I'm just here for a cleaning, they said that was to be determined by what my insurance would cover. Meanwhile, I'm perfectly capable of paying for my own dental cleaning even if my insurance didn't cover it. At one point, I tried talking to the dental hygienist about how flossing had been dropped from recommended best practices this year, since there's a lack of evidence to support its efficacy. She told me that was "dumb." Ha! The doctor was fine; I saw her for all of two minutes. The facilities are lovely, clean, and new. I like that you can set up appointments online. So there are pluses. But overall I prefer to be treated like a client, not like part an insurance-milking assembly line.
