::Their drivers are the absolute rudest people I have ever encountered. One of their drivers had my car blocked in and apparently she was motioning to me inside her car trying to ascertain if I needed out. I didn't see her inside the car so I placed my things into my car only to have her scream at me that I was rude for not acknowledging her. I have had issues with other drivers almost running me over outside my office but this just took it to a whole new level. I don't know much about the rest of the company but I urge anyone using their transportation services to use caution, these are the least professional 'people' I have ever seen.

::PLEASE don't put your loved ones in this program! Life Pittsburgh is all about the money, what they receive from the state is not used to care for the elderly. They tell you what you want to hear upon enrollment then everything that was to take place as far as care and assistance never does. My mother Patricia was to receive medication management, prep with meals, cleaning and laundry assistance, physical therapy (in home) as well as at the program in Greentree. My mother started this program in September and has only received medication prompts, the nurse doesn't even stay to ensure she actually takes them, the nurse that can barely speak English and my mom can't even understand a word she says whenever she does speak to her. My mother has COPD, Emphysema, Chronic Asthma with reoccurring bronchitis and pneumonia. She has been on several medications for these serious chronic conditions, including Spirivia Inhaler, Albuterol with a nebulizer that was to be used every 4 hours hours as needed for wheezing and difficulty breathing. Oxygen was another aid in her chronic conditions and breathing difficulty. All of these daily maintenance medications were removed from my mothers med list by Dr. Mitchell at Life Pittsburgh. The oxygen was supposedly taken away because the nurse smelled cigarettes in her apartment, however she lives on a smoking allowed floor where everyone smokes in the building, I was completely unaware of her not receiving her other breathing medications until I heard her wheezing on several occasions and grasping for air. I asked her to do a breathing treatment and call me back, she said she didn't have any medicine for it, I asked when was the last time you did one, her response (she has a brain injury in 2013 and now suffers from Dementia) I don't know maybe a few days. I called Life Pittsburgh and asked to speak to Dr. Mitchell as the last time I spoke with him I had advised that my mother was wheezing and grasping for air, his response was no I see her and she's fine. I asked him if she was still taking her breathing medications and replied yes but I don't know which ones I don't have her chart in front of me. Anyway, needless to say Dr. Mitchell did not return my call the nurse Mary did, she told me that my mother was NEVER prescribed any of those medications, there wasn't an order for it so she couldn't take it to her. So, my mother with all of these medical conditions and suffering from memory loss was without her daily maintenance previously prescribed medications for almost 4 months now. I am removing my mother for this program and reporting them to anyone who will listen to our story. When I advised Ally (social worker at Life Pittsburgh) this she told me that she spoke with my mother and she didn't want to leave the program, knowing she is incapable of even understanding what they do for her. After speaking with my mom shortly after she told me that Ally told her that there are no other programs like Life Pittsburgh out there, intimidating her into thinking that she needs this program. This dame day I see a patient satisfaction survey from Life Pittsburgh sitting on my mothers table filled out which asks how long have you been in Life Pittsburgh and her answer was 1-2 years, it's only been barely 4 months. Her meal preparation/assistance never took place, her physical therapy never took place, the two people that came to clean and do her laundry was there once or twice for 15 minutes but having her sign for 3 hours, they put her wash in and told her to finish it. Then of course it sat in the washer for days while other residents complaining because they wanted to do their laundry. I have met and spoken with several former Life Pittsburgh employees since all of this and from what I've heard this is not a nice place to work and this is not a place where I would ever suggest to another family for their loved one despite them being able to stay in their own home and keep their social security checks, it's not worth it!

::I have spoken with over 100 LIFE Pittsburgh participants and their families and everyone says the same thing, "Thank God for LIFE Pittsburgh." They provide 100% healthcare, prescriptions, medical supplies, home care, and in their Adult Day Health Centers, physical therapy, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, socialization, on-site doctors and nurses, hot meals, transportation and so much more. If you qualify, you get all of this at absolutely no cost. The place is amazing. If you are, or have family or friends who are, over 55 and need some care to stay safe in your own home or apartment, call LIFE Pittsburgh right away. You too will be thanking God for LIFE Pittsburgh!

::I have MS with all the associated health problems and can only get around in a wheelchair. I discovered LIFE Pittsburgh five years ago. They take care of all my needs at home and cover 100% of my health care. They transport me to and from their Adult Day Health Center as often as I wish. There I can get physical therapy, see a nurse or doctor, have lunch and can talk with my social worker. The staff is so caring, they feel like family. Because I qualify, there is no cost. No fees for transportation. No co-pay for health care or prescriptions. Nothing. This program is a true blessing and I recommend it to anyone over 55 who needs help to stay in the community - and out of a nursing home!
