  Very relaxing and you get to see Lady Liberty. Love the view and smooth ride. They even have a food stand inside the ferry.

  Booked a reserved ticket on the morning we decided to go. Unfortunately you have to book well in advance to do the crown. For us it was booked months out. As for the reservation looks like getting the tickets emailed to you was the best option. As they can scan your email at each point. Skip the will-call option. Also despite the savings the New York City Pass offers reserving your tickets saves you hours of waiting in their “flex” ticket line.

  Extrem voll! Lange Wartezeiten, und das Anfang Februar. Wer tatsächlich die Liberty Island Cruises von Manhattan aus wählt, der sollte entsprechend Zeit, Toleranz und Geduld mitbringen. Die Überfahrt ist in allen New York Touristenpässen (City Pass, Explorer Pass) enthalten und dauert maximal 10 Minuten. Die Fahrt von Liberty Island zur Ellis Island ist automatisch mit dabei! Wir standen etwa 30-40 Minuten an, um erstmal zur Sicherheitskontrolle (Metallscanner) zu kommen, ehe man erneut anstehen muss, um auf die Fähre zu warten. Im Winter ist es bekanntlich draußen recht kalt, also orientieren sich 80-90% der Leute zu den windgeschützten, geschlossenen Teilen auf dem Schiff. Trotzdem wird entsprechend voll gemacht. Auch wenn sich der Besuch auf den beiden Inseln total lohnt, sind die Wartezeiten und Überfahrten mit den Fähren echt grenzwertig - ist nunmal so bei der abzufertigenden Masse an Touristen. Das nicht viele Menschen den Egoismus vor die Rücksicht auf andere bevorzugen, muss man eben eine gewisse Stumpfheit für solche Situationen mitbringen. Vielleicht eine Überlegung wert, nicht direkt auf die Liberty Island fahren zu „müssen“, sondern eher die KOSTENLOSE Fähre nach Staten Island zu nehmen, welche sowieso direkt an der Freiheitsstatue vorbeifährt.

  The security lady clearly has an attitude and thinks she is the rock but apart from that the service is great. They ferry you to both liberty island and Ellis island and back again all for the one ticket price. There is a small cafe on board to for food and drink options.
