  A manager during the afternoon and evening hours was this heavyset black gentleman... I being a short white guy probably looked like an easy lick... So.. He proceeds to tell me hes gotta good deal for me... A couple had just used the room for fornication purposes and if i would give him $40 i could come give him the sheets and he'd gimme new ones... This way he could pocket my money and just keep the room in the couples name.... Well the room i paid $40 for the night before was exactly the same and so i informed him of this fact.. He proceeded to tell me he normally charges people $50 and he pockets $10.... The huge sign out front says "rooms $39.09".... This was an eventful day to say the least.6. I also must add that i saw the overnight manager, an aging white bald redneck, later that evening.. I asked him if all the rooms were the same pricecand he told me that he "does not monitor that information" to which i of course answered.. "Well u are a MANAGER correct?" Have fun being ripped off by ur local motel manager..

  If I wanted to hear someone get shot 9 time I would've stayed in Oak Cliff. The next day, there was a hoe that invaded my fiance and I room while my daughter was in there (we were leaving anyway since we stayed for two nights). Like... No. She almost caught these hands for two seconds. No thank you. Get off that baking soda and get right before someone knocks you out like Mike Tyson. Oh and the floors was very nasty, but at least they were wooden.

  Don't stay here !!!!!! BED BUGS!!!!!!! I was eaten alive by Bed Bugs . all over my butt and hips I could feel them all over of me. They made me swell . I took pictures and when I went to report it to office the manager was loud and rude to me And didn't want to give me his name to report to heath department. Which I know its Tim... When I told him I shouldn't have to pay for the room cause of bed bugs he said he didn't know they had them bull shot I'd paid for 2 nights and had to leave first night due to the hem they cause to me .   I Must Say, Before 3-4 weeks ago, I had not been to the Lamplighter for about 6 years & I have to admit- They have Cleaned the place up Very Nicely: 1st, the rooms have all been remodeled, and have faux Wood Floors, Nicer Furniture & Wall-Mounted flat screen TV's- along with mini-fridges in most rooms! 2nd, the exterior has been completely renovated and repainted. And 3rd, they have gotten rid of a lot of the undesirable clientele- at least as far as I could tell. I'd have given 4 stars, but b/c it is a motel I thought it might be misleading! But for the price and compared to its Old State, it's Now a great place 4 the price. Well done to the owners of The Lamplighter!

  Had to clean the entire room with bleach and Lysol to even be able to sit down and it still smelled the first couple days after that. Then I had my first experience with BEDBUGS! OMG THE BEDBUGS ARE HORRIBLE. My Bf and I tried to bomb the room and used 3 different methods to try and get rid of the bed bugs. Nothing worked. Still itching from this place..
