::I purchased the Kirkwood recliner ...waited for the 6 to 8 weeks for delivery and we were pleased to see it arrive. After several days of use I realized that the head rest on this particular model was pushing my head forward and causing an existing disc condition to act up resulting in pain in my upper back and neck and numbness down my arm...anyone who has ever experienced a pinched nerve will recognize the symptoms I’ve described. I called to discuss the problem with the Asst. Store Manager and experienced the poor attitude and lack of customer service skills that so many others have written about in their reviews. I then had to speak to the regional sales manager for the locally owned Long Island franchise who was also completely unsympathetic.....he told me had been doing this for 35 years and never heard of any injury from a product...as if I was making this up. He suggested I call corporate. My wife and I have both put in calls to corporate customer service and have been told it is up to the store to respond to the problem. Apparently there is no concern at the corporate level or at the Long Island Franchise Management level in regard to customer safety issues. As for the claim that there has been no potential for injury for 35 years...all one has to do is review Lazy Boy product recalls reported by the US Consumer Product Safety Comission. Last year for example there was a recall on over 2000 units because of the potential to cause electrical shocks. There were also product recalls in prior years due to furniture tipping over. The headrest in the chair that I purchased is a fairly new feature referred to as an “adjustable upper back pillow” which means the headrest pillow can be lifted up and a regular pillow can be put in its place if you want to sleep in the chair. The unfortunate thing is that this design tends to push the head forward and that can cause all kinds of problems if you have any preexisting spinal conditions. Perhaps what I find most disturbing is the lack of customer service at all levels in an organization that was once known as a standard bearer for quality and service. As a long time Lazy Boy customer and advocate I am truly disappointed.

::My husband and I are expecting our first child and were looking to purchase a recliner for the nursery. The sales associate George T was very caring, attentive and provided a great purchasing environment. We explained to George what we were looking for, he guided us in the right direction. We felt no pressure at all from George which we appreciated so much after going to a few different stores. Between the quality of the product and the great service we didn't even hesitate to purchase the recliner we tried. We're looking forward to delivery and enjoying our recliner in the new nursery!

::Sales lady(slim and short) had lot of attitude.. My husband wanted a recliner sofa. As he was busy with the kids i was initially asking about the sofas. When she showed me I did not sit and check because I was waiting for my husband. After he came, she said in a sarcastic way that she din not even sit and see and said that am very FUNNY. How dare she can comment like this to a customer. Too much attitude. Please learn how to treat your customers..
